I have over ten years of tutoring experience and six years of experience teaching in the classroom. My tutoring experience has been in small groups and in private sessions.I earned my English undergrad degree from Amherst College. I then went on to receive my master's in geosciences. I also scored very well on the SAT and GRE, coming in at the 99th percentile.Many students have found my teaching style to be very encouraging. I strive to figure out how I can customize my lessons in order to cater best to the needs of the individual student. I can even try to work with my students' classroom teachers in order to come up with a plan that will help the student throughout the entire semester. I also enjoy working with my students so that they can build confidence that will extend past the one subject or test that they are studying for.I am well versed in a wide variety of subjects, including grammar and mechanics, math, English, pre-algebra , GRE analytical writing, earth science, geometry, ASVAB, and algebra 1.Some of my personal interests include hiking, swimming, running, and taking part in marathons. I also enjoy cooking and international travel.
